Locally owned and unaffiliated, Century 21 Sleeping Bear Realty has been in business in Benzie County since 1972. Originally based in Frankfort, the company has grown to include four offices in Beulah, and Empire (Leelanau County). Six associate brokers and 23 agents provide coverage at all five offices, and participate in the Traverse Area Association of Realtors (TAAR) and the Manistee-Oceana-Mason County multi-list services. We are members in good standing with the national Association of Realtors and the Michigan Association of Realtors.

Century 21 Sleeping Bear Realty features a full service, in-house closing department which handles the majority of our closings and after-sales support. We annually sell approximately 85 percent of our own listings. We pride ourselves on being contributing members to our home communities. Many of our agents are active volunteers in their communities. Old Mission Point Light 1870

Located on 45th parallel this light is no longer in operation, nor is it open for tours. Directions: take M-37 to end of Old Mission peninsula, approx. 22 miles from Front St. in Traverse City.

Grand Traverse Light 1851

Also known as “Cat’s Head” this light is also an historic museum open to the public.

Museum hours:

June – Labor Day 10am–4pm May, Labor Day – Oct. noon–4pm November (weekends) noon–4pm

South Manitou Island Light 1872

Tour this historic light, and watch out for ghosts, this one’s considered “haunted” by some.

island may be reached by ferry from Leland. Light located 0.6 miles from Ranger station and dock
Robert H. Manning Light 1991

This little known light is only the second memorial light in Michigan.

Directions:

From M-22/M-72 intersection go W. on Front St. to Lake St. N. into Empire Beach Park

 
Point Betsie Light 1858

Celebrating 150 Year Anniversary

This is the oldest operating light in Michigan and the second most photographed in the United States. The light marks the southern entrance to the Manitou passage.

Directions:

Take M-22 to Pt. Betsie Rd. (4 miles N. of blinking light in Frankfort)

Hours:

Now open for tours. Summer, Thurs – Sun, check their website for specific hours.

Frankfort North Breakwater Light 1932

Walk along the pier and you’ll find this light guiding boats safely into the Betsie Bay
